This extraordinary Historic Estate which in parts, dates back to the 13th century. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a magnificent Catalan country home (masia) which has been declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest. Located in the charming hamlet of Raset, just over 2 km from Cervià de Ter, in the Girona region of Spain. Its architecture emanates characteristics from the Gothic and Renaissance periods. This remarkable property retains architectural elements from its noble past, including loopholes, vaulted ceilings, and features built using the "opus spicatum" technique — a traditional herringbone arrangement of carved stone and brick. The manor bares a rich history as the birthplace of the Catalan noble family of Raset, a family of influential figures in the public arena and the church, some centuries ago. More recently, during the Spanish Civil war, it was a place of refuge for the famous Spanish poet Antonio Machado, whilst on his way to his exile in Collioure (France), 1939. Interestingly, the manor house lies along the well-known Santiago route and the ancient Via Augusta. Today the building is listed as BIC (Bien Intères Cultural), as declared by the Ministry of Culture of Spain.
